Here is a quote posted on The Secular Outpost.
“For one thing, if Jesus was buried in a stone tomb before sunset on Friday evening, as the Gospels report, then he might well have been observed for only an hour after his alledged death. Once his body was inside the tomb, no one could observe whether or not he was breathing or had a heartbeat.”
This is a ridiculous argument. It does not explain the empty tomb. Suppose Jesus was still alive and was just a mere human, he would not have had the strength after the torture of a crucifixion to escape from the tomb. He would have had to roll a huge bolder away from the inside. Outside, dozens of Roman soldiers were guarding the tomb.
When the tomb was made accessible on that Sunday morning through supernatural intervention, those looking inside didn’t see a bloodied body with the marks of crucifixion. They saw no body at all! It was gone.
Jesus died for your sins and mine. He came back to life and rose again the third day. He was not confined to a physical burial site but rose right through it. Because he was and is God in the flesh he had the power to overcome death.
Believe this today, and you will be saved. “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved” (Romans 10:9). “There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
