Did you ever stop and ask yourself why the world is the way it is? It is getting worse, not better. I am not trying to be negative here, but in my generation (I am 69 years old) the world has changed dramatically, and not in a good way. This article, in fact this blog, is geared primarily to the younger generation. I can tell you that things did not used to be the way they are now. Those in their teens and twenties are growing up in an entirely different culture. When I was a young person there were no mass shooting on a regular basis. Now they are occurring on almost a weekly basis. There was no such thing as gay marriage. Abortion was not even given a thought. Living together and sex before marriage was taboo. There was a healthy respect for authority and those in power. There were civil demonstration, but not with the destruction and disregard for personal property that we are witnessing today. People could stand up before a crowd of people with opposing views and be heard with respect. There was no name-calling and labeling as bigots and racists just because one did not share another’s political or moral views. Almost everything we see today there was an opposite when I was growing up. I have seen a dramatic shift in every aspect of our culture in my generation.
The world has sunk to a new level, morally, politically, and spiritually. Yes, there are people who are still holding firm to morality, patriotism, and biblical truth, but many have fallen away from these things. There is a mindset of believing and acting anyway a person wants to, and woe be it to any individual who believes or acts differently. God has been removed from society and has been replaced with the “gods” of sports figures, pop musicians, and movie stars. Even Star Wars has been made into a religion of the Jedi. Artificial intelligence is also becoming a religion called “The Way of the Future.”
When I was growing up students had respect for their teachers. There was no worry of a gunman blowing up a campus. Students brought their own lunch to school, not expecting the school to provide it for them and then not liking it. There was no sense of entitlement. Rather everyone was expected to work their way up through hard work. There was no social media to replace conversation with someone standing or sitting next to another. Much more could be said, but this article would be too long.
We are now living in an era of what some have defined as “post-truth.” In the minds of many, there is no longer any absolute truth. In fact, truth has been replaced by deception. Satan worship has seen a huge surge. Romans 1:18:28 speaks to this. It says, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…they exchanged the truth of God for a lie…they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer.” After each of these phrases it says that “God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity…to degrading passions…to a depraved mind” (Emphasis mine). The more the world’s culture has left out God, the worse human nature has become. God allows each person, and humanity as a whole, to reject him. But the consequences of this is what we are seeing today in the world conditions.
The Bible prophesied that there would come a time in history when people would call evil good, and good evil, knowledge would increase dramatically, the world would turn against the nation Israel, and The Middle East would become like a powder keg ready to explode. There would be lawlessness, deception, and continual evil. Homosexuality would become prominent. People would become haters of good. Storms and weather would become more intense. Epidemics would become common. These things, and many others not mentioned, are all happening today.
We are leading up to a “time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time” (Daniel 12:1). Matthew 24:21 repeats this. “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall.” Luke 21:26 and 35 adds to this. People will be “fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world…for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of the earth.”
So, things are going to get a whole lot worse. Bible prophecies are being fulfilled right and left. Add to this artificial intelligence. The younger generation is most likely to experience change like the world has ever known since the discovery of electricity. In my next article I will be.talking about the Tribulation Period coming upon the world, a time of God’s intervention and judgment. But there IS a way out! And it can have a very happy ending for you. Stay tuned.
