“Fear is in the air, and fear is surging. Americans are more afraid today than they have been in a long time.” This is a quote given in an article entitled, “Fear Is Gripping More People In The Church,” by Adam Hamilton of the Christian Post. Many different things were listed as to the reason, among them are the world conditions.
I came across another article entitled, “Official Washington Flocking To Doomsday Camps,” by Paul Bedard. This article says that “a building network of backwoods doomsday camps around the country are pulling in members…as the threats grow from nuclear war, an EMP or virus attack” from Russia, Iran, or North Korea. These camps are called Fortitude Ranch, offering a one year supply of food, as well as protection in underground bunkers. So far, two camps have been set up, with 10 more planned. The cost to join this network of survival camps is $1000 per year, per person. Just google the above title to watch the video.
This is prophetic, for it says in Luke 21:26 that there will be a fear from “the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world…” The question is, in whom or what are you going to find your refuge, if you are still here when something like this takes place, which some people say is “inevitable.” Here are some Bible verses to ponder, which can be applied to this scenario as well as to other situations that could cause fear. We should be prepared as best we can but also rely upon the truth of God’s word. After all, how many people could afford to pay $1000? God can give refuge and provision in ways that we know nothing about.
Psalm 32: 7, “You are my hiding place, you preserve me from trouble. You surround me with songs of deliverance.”
Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 59:16-17, “…For you have been my stronghold, and a refuge in the day of my distress…For God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.”
Proverbs 18:10, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.”
If you have not already done so, consider putting your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is not at the mercy of the world’s economy or any kind of disasters that could befall you. He has the upper hand.
