I entered a fast-food restaurant recently. There was a kiosk. An employee was helping customers learn how to place an order from it. You then take your “order form” the machine gives you and present it to the person at the counter. A few moments later you are happily enjoying your “happy meal.” We may as well get used to it because it is part of the future. It is convenient and there is no waiting in line. But there is a downside to this.
Automation will be replacing jobs. It has been projected that by the year 2030 in the U.S. up to 70 million jobs may be lost to something other than humans, like kiosk machines or robots. Worldwide the job loss could total 800 million. (John Hawkins, 4/20/18, “The 4 Biggest Future Dangers For America That You’ve Never Heard Of”)
It goes beyond automation to artificial intelligence. Ray Kurzwell, Director of Engineering for Google, said that by 2029 “computers will have human level intelligence.”
Yet, with the advancement in technology is another factor that is very concerning. Instead of using a kiosk by selecting your choice with your finger you simply wave your hand? Does this sound far fetched? Not to those who follow the progression of linking humans with technology.
A company in Sweden called Epicenter is using the human hand as a credit card. Many of its employees have been chipped. They can open doors, operate a printer, and buy food from a vending machine simply by waving their hand. The same technology is in use at The Three Square Market in Wisconsin, U.S.A.
So, while sitting in this restaurant, the thought came to mind, “Are we only a few steps from not only placing an order from a kiosk, but also paying for it, simply by a chip in our hands?” As fast as things are progressing, it may not be very far away! But, people will welcome it because of its ease and convenience.
It is all coming together. Get ready. Is it possible that soon there will be no choice but to order and pay for food, and other basic commodities, by a chip in our hand? And what if this technology gets under the control of the wrong person? Revelation 13 talks about a world leader, referred to as “the beast” whom people will follow and worship. This person will have “authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation…” However, we are also told in this same chapter that he will cause “all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, and he provides that no one should be able to buy or sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.” So, does a chip implant leave a “mark”? (See https://www.popsci.com/my-boring-cyberg-implant). Disclaimer: I am not saying that chip implants will be the “mark” to which this biblical passage refers, but things sure seem to be moving in that direction.)
However, don’t be deceived. The “beast” will be satan in human flesh. Getting the mark, associated with the beast’s name or number, will be giving allegiance to him.
